Together - Pearce & Ann
Pearce and Ann purchased a 15 acre tract of land in Western Grayson County in 1996 and moved there in 1997 to start Bailey’s Berry Patch – a blueberry and blackberry u-pick farm. The land had never been tilled and was covered with native Texas wildflowers and prairie grasses. The blueberries and blackberries were planted between 1997 and 1999 and a complete irrigation system was installed. The Bailey’s Berry Patch opened June 1, 1999. The Berry Patch is easily accessible from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, as well as from all of Southern Oklahoma.
Since the original opening in 1999, Pearce and Ann have built the business into the success that it is today. The tragedy of September 11th resulted in bringing people back to the desire for a simpler way of life. Agri-tourism has become a part of the life style of the people living in highly populated areas. The nostalgia of a peaceful day in the country is exactly what these people want to include in their lives and in the lives of their families. Pearce and Ann know how to do this and Bailey’s Berry Patch is proof of that. They have been called upon regularly to consult with and to mentor a number of other u-pick and direct market farms. Call today and see how Pearce & Ann can help you become a part of the agripreneur approach to today’s farming.
